Generally Roots fans are not allowed to reverse (because the gap between the air inlet and the exhaust is not the same), so Roots fans need to be provided with a check valve at the exhaust end.
That is, the wind is allowed to enter from the Roots fan to the piping system to prevent the Roots blower from stopping suddenly, so that the gas of the Roots fan system receives the system pressure, and the return impact on the Roots fan causes the Roots fan to reverse and damage the Roots Fan. In addition, when several Roots fans are operated in parallel, if one of them is not working, the check valve can also prevent the gas at the exhaust end from passing through the Roots fan that is not used, causing reverse damage. In short, it is to protect the Roots fan from reversing.
Divided by structure:
Vertical type: The centerline of the two rotors of the roots blower is in the same vertical horizontal plane, and the airflow enters horizontally and exits horizontally;
Horizontal type: The centerline of the two rotors of the roots blower is in the same horizontal plane, and the airflow enters vertically and exits vertically.
Most of the Roots saw the blades of the machine collide, most of them are caused by the bearing gap becoming larger. If the replacement of the synchronous gear is not feasible, it is recommended to use a good quality bearing. The wear of high-speed bearings and roots blower gears can be judged according to the gear meshing gap. If the gear wear exceeds the limit, you can consider replacing the original gear. When adjusting the gap between the two blades, you must use a feeler gauge along the blade length to determine.
